ABC 7: A bottle bill could bring money and cleaner neighborhoods to DC communities

From ABC 7 News:

A new bill proposed by D.C. Councilmember Brianne Nadeau seeks to introduce a bottle deposit system across Washington, D.C., aiming to reduce litter and promote recycling.

The initiative, often referred to as a "bottle bill," would place deposit containers throughout the District, allowing residents to return bottles for a 10-cent refund.

A reversed vending machine is Vondre Walston’s dream to clean up his community. You put a bottle in and you get 10 cents back.

Walston said this keeps garbage off sidewalks, streets, and our waterways.
